muacave.org is a visitor guide to Mua Cave (Hang Mua) and the Lying Dragon viewpoint in Ninh Binh, Vietnam. It is written for people planning a visit: what the place is, the climb and the summit, the ticket, the light, the way there and the sights around it.
Who is responsible for the place
Hang Mua lies in Khe Dau Ha village, Hoa Lu ward, Ninh Binh province, inside the Trang An Landscape Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage property managed in Ninh Binh by the Trang An Landscape Complex management board. The tourist area itself is run by a private company, Lac Hong Trading and Tourism Company, which sets the ticket price. The province’s tourism department publishes notices and ticket lists through its tourism promotion centre. This site is not run by any of them, and does not speak for them.
Where the facts come from
- The ticket comes from the 2026 ticket list of Ninh Binh’s tourism promotion centre and the ticket list of the Trang An management board; the date of the 2026 price change from the press report of the operator’s notice.
- The steps, the cave, the statue, the dragon and the lotus pond come from the pages of Ninh Binh’s tourism promotion centre, in Vietnamese and English. Where its pages disagree, as on the number of steps, we print both.
- Openings and closures come from the province’s tourism department, as published in the Vietnamese press (VOV, Tuoi Tre, Dan Tri and others).
- The address comes from the National Assembly Standing Committee’s resolutions on Ninh Binh’s communes and wards.
- The World Heritage property comes from the UNESCO World Heritage Centre.
- Weather averages come from Vietnam’s national building code on climate data (QCVN 02:2022/BXD).
- Sunrise and sunset are calculated for the summit with the standard solar equations.
- Road, walking and cycling distances are routed along the mapped road and path network between the named points; straight-line distances are measured between the same points.
- Maps are drawn for this site from open map data, credited on each map.
Facts were checked in November 2026. We publish no opening hours, because no official source gives them.
